How credit disputes work

Outline for your article: explain that consumers can dispute inaccurate information with credit reporting agencies, that furnishers and bureaus have duties under federal law, and that outcomes vary.

  1. Get your reports and identify possible errors.
  2. Send a clear written dispute (you remain the sender).
  3. Track delivery and the reinvestigation window.
  4. Review the response; escalate only with facts (including optional CFPB self-file).

DisputeGrid helps with checklists, letter drafts, mail options, and timers. It does not "repair" credit for you.

DisputeGrid is software that helps you prepare documents. It is not a credit repair company and does not promise removals or score increases. Try the demo.
